Ahead of todays Inauguration Day the US Postal Service has removed mailboxes across the country including at least 14 in Southern California as a security precaution. The threat of anti government violence makes the mailboxes a target as many people think the US Post Office is a government agency.
The US Post Office is ran separate from the United States Government although congress does approve its budget. The 14 mailboxes removed in four in Los Angeles, Seven in Van Nuys and three in Huntington Beach.
The reason Huntington Beach is on the list is because its know for white supremacist violence and it has been known in recent times for its anti government protests concerning wearing masks and closing businesses.
Post Offices are one of the numerous government or affiliated buildings that could be threatened by anti government protests.
