As Corona Virus cases spike after the Thanksgiving holiday with hospital cases also spiking Governor Gavin Newsome has issued a stay at home order that will likely last at least three weeks.
Under the order schools can remain open but it calls for the closure of barber shops, hair saloons, bars, personal care services as well as wineries. Restaurants can remain open but only for take out or delivery service.
Retail locations can also remain open but at only 20 percent capacity this order applies to Southern California and, four out of the five regions the Governor mentioned with only San Francisco and, the Bay Area excluded.
This order is going to very unpopular but a least he allowed non essential retail locations to remain open albeit at 20 percent capacity in the lead up to Christmas.
Update December 4th:
There is an clarification on the stay at home order which now won’t take effect to Sunday at the earliest. For the stay at home order to be enacted available capacity at each regions intensive care units must be at 15 percent or less.
