Drive in movies are being set up everywhere during the pandemic well how about a drive in comedy show? You now have that option as the Irvine Improv is planning four consecutive Saturday nights of stand up comedy shows in a drive in venue.
The event called “Improv Live Drive In Comedy” will take place August 15th, 22nd, 29th and September 5th on top of the Regal parking deck at the Irvine Spectrum Center. Outside at a shopping mall parking near a movie theater seems a strange place for a show but in these times right now every business is being creative to stay open and all of us desperately need some laughs.
The headliners each night will also have their performances projected on a 50 screen to make then easier to see. The first night is a selection of five comics followed by Brad Williams on August 22nd, Fortune Feinstein’s on August 29th and May Jobrani with Omid Singh & Tehran on September 5th.
Tickets for the show aren’t inexpensive at $125 to $150 per vehicle but if you get a bunch of friends in the car together and split it then it’s not too bad. Just watch out for the friend that forgets their wallet or only has partial payment you know which friend that’s likely to be.
All tickets must be purchased in advance and there will be concessions available for purchase and social distancing will be enforced. You must be 18 years to attend the shows and gates open at 6pm with the shows starting at 8pm.
