OC Bus Cuts Back Service

OC Bus

In light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and California Governor Gavin Newsom’s stay at home order the OCTA ha announced service reductions top OC Bus.

Starting tomorrow all routes are operating on their Sunday service seven days a week meaning a big reduction in service and, some routes not operating at all. Ridership has been dropping the last few weeks from 125,000 weekday to less than 50,000 weekday daily riders so its not a surprise that changes have been made.

The change in service also gives the OCTA the ability to have its coach operators 65 years and older or drivers with medical conditions to remain at home for their safety.

Streetside 714 is mainly a travel website about Orange Count. California and at the present i’m sure their isn’t many visitors as places such Knott’s Berry Farm and Disneyland are closed; That being said they could be people like myself in critical industries that do need to get around. I’m talking about my day job that i’m required to go to not the blog if it was just blogging i would shelter in place like the Governor has asked for.

Hopefully at some point in the future we will be able to travel and explore this great planet, but until that time i wish everyone the best in this difficult time.
