Too many visitors from around the world Orange County, California is home to the happiest place on earth Disneyland. To many Disney fans Disneyland is special because this is Walt Disney’s original theme park and the only one he ever walked though as he passed away before Epcot was completed. Since Disneyland was opened during an ABC television special on July 17th 1955 over 700 million people have visited the park.
Disneyland is broken up in to themed lands such as Main Street USA, Adventureland, Frontierland, New Orleans Square, Critter Country, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Mickeys Toontown and the recently opened Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
The cost of admission to Disneyland when i first went in 1984 was $14.00 today the price varies but starts at $104 during slower times or $129 regular days or $149 for peak times. Every year Disneyland raises prices but recently there was a big jump as Disney expected huge crowds for their new Star Wars themed land Galaxy’s Edge. If you buy multiple days you do get a discount and, there is a discount if you buy park hopper tickets to visit the next door California Adventure.
Unlike Florida where most visitors are tourists, Orange County is densely populated right next to the park so a large portion of the visitors have Annual Passports. The annual passports vary in price according to the benefits and restrictions with prices running from $599 to $1,399 per year with the lesser priced ones having more blackout dates.
A Disney Southern California Select passport is also offered for Southern California residents with id at $399 annual price but many blackout dates. It doesn’t matter if you have a ticket or pass all rides, events, shows etc are included in the one price.
